Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | The mode-matching method is a very efficient technique for the precise analysis of waveguide discontinuities. However, in most cases, the electromagnetic fields in the discontinuous section cannot be expanded with the mode functions of the continuous section, so a means to overcome this obstacle is required. In this report, we describe a kind of mode-matching technique for the discontinuity problems of a rectangular waveguide that we have already proposed. This first divides the discontinuous region into appropriate flared or circular regions, thereby creating an area where variables can be locally separated. Then, the electromagnetic fields of the cylindrical coordinate system displayed in these areas and those in the continuous area are matched within hypothetical boundaries. As a main example, the scattering characteristics of the dominant and higher-order modes in the H-plane and E-plane right-angled bends are clarified while evaluating the error. |
