Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | As for the satellite transmission scheme used for 4K/8K ultra-high definition television (UHDTV), ISDB-S3 which supports the 16APSK and 32APSK modulation schemes has been standardized. Although these modulation schemes increase transmission capacity, they are susceptible to the non-linear characteristics of satellite transponders, especially traveling wave tube amplifiers (TWTAs). Therefore, it is important to analyze the influence of the non-linear characteristics on the APSK modulation signal and ensure an adequate link margin to provide stable satellite broadcasting services. The operating point of a TWTA is a dominant factor in the transmission performance of the APSK modulation signal. Setting the appropriate operating point makes it possible to achieve sufficiently the high link margin to balance the trade-off relation between output power of the satellite transponder and transmission performance. In this study, we define the evaluation method of the link margin and evaluate the optimal operating point for APSK modulation signal in a satellite broadcasting. |
