Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Over time, the desks of office workers often get cluttered with documents, items, and other objects that are unrelated to the work being done. These objects become visual noise. Visual noise tends to reduce the worker's concentration on their work. Therefore, it is desirable to have an uncluttered environment to work. We propose a system that uses mixed reality to control the visibility of real objects. To control the visibility of clutter objects, we generated a 3D model from the past depth data of the location where the object is placed. Then, we superimposed the object with a modified visibility. Three methods of visually reducing the prominence of the object were implemented and compared: grayscaling, contouring, and transparency adjustment. In addition, we evaluated user's impressions of the modified visibility of clutter objects. The results showed that the transparency adjustment was perceived as the most comfortable and useful method by the participants. |
