Abstract(in English) In a cloud computing environment with networked virtual machines~(VMs), we have proposed a traffic volume estimation scheme for VM~(Virtual Machine) live migration, where VMs are moved from a physical machine to another one according to traffic load in the physical hosts. We refer to a VM or a physical network interface cards~(NIC) in the cloud environment as {em node}, and define a {em flow} as a pair of nodes. By means of compressed sensing~(CS), the proposed method estimates the traffic volume of the flows from the observed transmitted and received traffic volume of nodes and can identify a flow with a heavy traffic volume. In this article, we evaluate the performance of the proposed method in a multiple physical hosts environment with simulation experiments.
