Improvement of AdaBoost algorithm for spiking neural networks

Abstract(in English) Unlike artificial neural networks (ANNs), which have been widely used recently, spiking neural networks (SNNs) have attracted attention as a biological plausible model for information processing with spikes. SNNs have achieved performance close to ANNs in image and speech processing, but not perfectly equivalent accuracy. Therefore, we apply the AdaBoost algorithm, one of the ensemble learning methods used in ANNs, to SNNs. However, there are few examples of the AdaBoost applied to SNNs and exploiting the advantages of the features of SNNs. In this study, we numerically examined how the training time and accuracy are affected in image classification by adding weights to each data in the AdaBoost as the input time of the data to the SNN.
