Analysis of 2.4 GHz Band Received Power Fluctuation in a Factory Environment

Abstract(in English) In this paper, analysis of a long term radio propagation channel measurement to investigate the temporal fluctuations of received power at the 2.4 GHz band in a factory environment is presented. The transmitter antenna was set up at a high location at the center of the factory, and the temporal fluctuations of the received power was measured at several fixed locations using a portable spectrum analyzer. A spectrum analyzer was also placed on top of an Automatic Guided Vehicle (AGV), and the received power was measured while the AGV moved around the factory. We found that the received power fluctuated about 10 dB when the receiver location was fixed, while the received power fluctuated about 30 dB when the receiver was placed on top of the moving AGV. The histogram of the received power was compared with several common probability density functions, and we found that the stable distribution could model the distribution of the received power best, regardless of the receiver location.
