A Study on the Role of Latent Variables in Auto Encoder and U-Net

Abstract(in English) Using U-Net, which introduces Contracting Paths (Concat) into Auto Encoder (AE), we trained the system to output a front face image when a sideways face image is input.As a result, we confirmed that the latent variable conveyed by each Concat changed, and that each Concat had a different role.we will examine the roles of latent variables in AE and U-Net for the same and different input/output cases.
