Abstract(in English) | In recent years, infrastructure facilities have been noticeably deteriorating and need to be inspected effectively. Many pipe-inspection robots have been investigated, however, conventional robots are so large. As a robot has been downsized, cables for communication and power transmission disturbs the movement of the robot In this report, we use microwave guided-modes propagating along a pipe-wall as a means of communication method. Experimental setup using compact pipe travelling robot was constructed. By using a 3D electromagnetic field simulation and experiments, we confirmed the feasibility of the communication method. |
