Abstract(in English) | This work presents a cryogenic digital-to-analog converter (DAC) for controlling a qubits in a large-scale quantum computer. The development of a qubit control chip which can be placed on a 4-8 K plate in a dilution refrigerator is one of the most important challenges for realizing large-scale quantum computers. This work proposes a small and low-power DAC for a bias voltage generator, one of the major components of a control chip. The capacitor arrays composing a charge-redistribution DAC are miniaturized by utilizing the cryogenic characteristics of low noise and leakage. Furthermore, capacitor mismatches due to their small size are automatically corrected by a newly proposed calibration technique with a small area-overhead. The prototype DAC was evaluated at 8 K temperature, and it achieved a very small area of 0.008 mm^2 and low power consumption of 5.8 uW, while a non-linearity error within +/-2 LSB. |
