Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In wireless communications, non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA), which combines and transmit multiple user signals, can improve the spectral efficiency drastically. Applying NOMA to orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) yields NOMA-OFDM, which suffers from higher peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) than that of OFDM owing to the multiplexing. To minimize such PAPR, this report proposes to apply a constant amplitude scheme to NOMA-OFDM. Specifically, one NOMA-OFDM signal is decomposed into two constant amplitude signals, which are transmitted at different timing. Since the decomposition induces out-of-band emission (OOBE), the resultant signal should be passed into a low-pass filter (LPF). On the receiver side, received signals corresponding to the two constant amplitude signals are retrieved and combined to recover the original NOMA-OFDM signal. In the same manner as the conventional NOMA-OFDM, successive interference cancellation (SIC) can be employed for signal detection. Computer simulations demonstrate that the proposed scheme can achieve lower PAPR than the conventional NOMA-OFDM and thus can alleviate signal distortion caused by a non-linear power amplifier following LPF much more than NOMA-OFDM, which results in improving the bit error rate (BER) performance.
