Abstract(in English) | Recently, various types of 3D-printable optical microscopes have been reported. Many of those are open-sourced, therefore, anyone can replicate and utilize them, and moreover, anyone can contribute to the improvement of the system. Among these, the OpenFlexure Microscope families have quite unique design adopting the flexure mechanism of the 3D-printed flexible plastics, and show extremely high positioning precision combining with low-cost stepper motors. We have so far reported on the development of the structured illumination microscope (SIM) with optical sectioning capability by assembling several 3D-printed components with the OpenFlexure Delta Stage. It is theoretically known that the SIM has a depth resolution comparable with that achievable with the confocal microscopes. In our system, a depth resolution of 4.0 um has been achieved with the 0.8 NA, 60× objective lens and a grid of 50 um periodicity. |
