Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Wireless power transfer technology is expected to be a convenient means of feeding numerous rechargeable battery-powered devices. Wireless power transfer using electromagnetic induction was internationally standardized by Wireless Power Consortium in 2010 and there already exist many kinds of its products. However, its use is still so limited that wireless power transfer cannot be regarded as one of the core technologies in our lives and industries in the current situation. For establishing wireless power transfer technology as a core technology in IoT (Internet of Things) / CPS (Cyber-Physical System), the pursuit of "ease of use" and "ease of design" as well as performance improvement and application exploration are also indispensable. From the above viewpoint, this lecture introduces our R&D activities and prospects for wireless power transfer technologies using resonant coupling and microwave power transfer, such as resonator design and magnetic field leakage cancellation.
