Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | The quasi-zenith satellite Michibiki broadcasts signals that convey disaster information as well as navigation signals. This disaster and crisis management report message is designed on the assumption of continuous reception. Since serious disaster messages are frequently and repeatedly transmitted, receivers that receive such serious messages do not necessarily have to be received continuously, but rather intermittent reception may be performed with the aim of reducing the average power consumption of the receiver. Furthermore, if the next disaster and crisis management report message is predictable, the average power consumption can be further reduced by sleeping during the message transmission period that the receiver considers unnecessary. Here, the time-variant intermittent reception that estimates the next message type from the message type received at a certain time and determines the next sleep time is proposed. For performing time-variant intermittent reception for the high priority messages, the state transition of the disaster and crisis management report message is analyzed. |
