Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Attention disorder cause distractibility, a tendency to shift attention to other stimuli, and an inability to focus on one thing at a time. Because attention is the basis for cognitive functions such as memory, language, and perception, attention disorders can interfere with daily life. The Trail Making Test (TMT) is a widely known method for evaluating attentional function. While the TMT is a simple test using only paper and pencil, there are three problems with it: (1) The examiner uses a stopwatch to measure time, which makes the measurements inaccurate. (2) A single person cannot perform it at a time of their choice because an inspector is required. (3) The tests are monotonous and difficult to perform continuously. This study proposes an attentional function rehabilitation system using TMT with the Leap Motion Controller device. The proposed system does not use paper and pencil but uses a PC and the Leap Motion Controller to perform the examination. While conventional testing requires an examiner, the proposed system has the advantage that it can be performed anywhere by one person at any time. We will conduct questionnaires on the usability of the proposed system, verification of rehabilitation effects, and correlation with the existing TMT and make improvements based on them.
