Abstract(in English) | Recently, various algorisms for reducing image noise on CT images have been developed and made it possible to depict a tiny and subtle lesion. On the other hand, it is well known that image signals on CT images were blurred by using noise reduction algorisms. Until now, Modulation Transfer Function (MTF) is the most commonly used method in quantitative evaluation of image sharpness of CT images and is adaptable to linear processing images. Therefore, sharpness of CT images reconstructed by various noise reduction algorisms, which are non-linear processing, cannot be evaluated using MTF. In this study, we have devised new method for evaluating sharpness of CT images on the bases of the stochastic differential equation. |
