Abstract(in English) | In an outdoor environment, especially for industrial purposes, a multiple-input-multiple-output optical wireless communication (MIMO-OWC) system represents the most flexible and easy-to-deploy solution to deploy solution to achieve point-to-point long-distance and high-speed data transmission. In this work, we report on the outdoor performance of our proposed 8×8 MIMO-OWC system featuring two linear optical arrays. The communication is experimentally evaluated in terms of the bit-error-rate (BER) while considering both zero forcing (ZF) and maximum likelihood (MLD) techniques. Based on the results, a BER as low as $10^{-6}$ is obtained at a distance of 60m with ZF. At larger distances up to 100m, the use of MLD ensures a performance improvement, as expected. Furthermore, we demonstrate that 200 Mbps communication can be achieved over a distance of 100m. |
