Estimation of Induced Electric Field for Uniform Magnetic Field Exposure to the Arm

Abstract(in English) The dominant effect for electromagnetic fields exposure is electrostimulation at frequencies lower than 10 MHz. In the international guidelines/standard defined the limits to protect against electrostimulation of excitable tissue both in the central nervous system and peripheral nervous system, especially pain, at frequencies <10 MHz. However, reports about electrostimulation in humans are limited, such as the measurement of perception thresholds using magnetic resonance systems or contact currents. Therefore, painful electrostimulation threshold is insufficient. In this study, we firstly adjusted the parameters fitting of nerve activation in arms based on the measured data. Secondly, we estimated external magnetic flux density according to the pain thresholds by combining the computation of electromagnetic field and nerve activation. Finally, we compared the computed results with the reference levels in the international guidelines.
