Practical experiments for extending the communication distance with LPWA wireless still-image transmission equipment

Abstract(in English) Through the rapid development of IoT technology in recent years, various remote monitoring / control systems have been implemented in social systems and as they have become more widespread, the additional features such as "license-free," "portable," and "independent power supply." have been also more required. In consideration of these market demands, we have developed a still-image transmission equipment using the LPWA method which enables to put it into practical use mainly focused in the field on detecting the foresight of natural disasters. However, we had difficulties on forming wireless communication systems which can transmit digital signals exceeding 8 km even in the straight line conditions without obstruction, and we have studied that the further development on the equipment to extend the communication distance must be necessary for the solution on the practical use. In order to solve this problem, we have successfully developed the systems to extend the distance with using high-gain antenna. And through our verification experiments, we have confirmed that it enables to form an LPWA communication line in the distance of exceeding 10 km.
