Abstract(in English) This research proposes the usage of the time-reversal algorithm to estimate one and two passive thin cylindrical targets with their location unknown, within a designated target area, in a multipath environment using a corner reflector for one target, and a planar reflector for two targets, where all reflectors were placed behind the target. This method was simulated in a finite difference time domain (FDTD) where signal processing and analysis are done in the time domain. There are two major stages in this proposed method namely: forward mode and reverse mode. In forward mode, the target was excited by transmitting a Gaussian pulse from the transmitter and the reflected wave was received by a circular array. After the time-reversal algorithm, time gating, which separates the direct path and multipath signals from the target, and signal decomposition were applied, a contour image of the target area is formed, and the peak/s show/s the estimated position of the target/s after cross-correlating the direct path and multipath signals.
