Remote research guidance for measurement of environmental electromagnetic fields in daily-life settings

Abstract(in English) The pandemic of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has caused a tremendous impact even on university education, forcing them to provide remote instructions not only in course works but also in thesis works. Here, we present the results of four types of measurement conducted at an off-campus research facility by lending the students majoring in the environmental electromagnetic engineering seminar an electromagnetic field measuring instrument that can measure only compound electric and compound magnetic fields without a frequency analysis function. Based on these results, we discuss the effects of those fields on humans and patients with implantable medical devices. In addition, the underlying problems and feasibility of the remote instructions in these studies are discussed.
