| 抄録(和) | 実時間モニタリングシステムにおける主要な性能指標として，情報鮮度 Age of Information (AoI) の概念が近年盛んに研究されている．AoI はモニタに表示されている情報の「新しさ」を定量化する指標であり，情報源のサンプリング過程がシステム品質に与える影響を捉えられる点が，通常の遅延時間の概念と本質的に異なっている．本講演では初めに，AoI の概念が導入された動機と AoI に関連する諸量の定義について説明する．次に，AoI の理論的解析における基本的な枠組みと簡単な解析結果を説明し，AoI が満たす性質について紹介する．最後に，AoI を用いた情報通信システムの性能評価について講演者が最近実施している研究を複数紹介する． |
| 抄録(英) | The notion of the age of information (AoI) has become recognized as the primary performance metric of real-time monitoring systems in recent years. The AoI quantifies the freshness of the information being monitored and it is essentially different from the conventional delay metric in that it captures how the system performance is affected by the sampling process of the information source (as well as by the system delay). In this talk, the notion of the AoI is first introduced with emphasis on its original motivation and several quantities relevant to the AoI are explained. Next, the theoretical framework of the AoI analysis is explained and some simple examples are presented with their implications. Finally, several recent works of the author are introduced, which focus on the applications of the notion of the AoI to various information and communication systems. |
