Abstract(in English) | Many historically attractive and valuable images are taken as gray-scale images. On the other hand, since color information is a very important element in visual representation, it is difficult for gray-scale images to clearly convey scenes of former days. Therefore, colorization methods have been developed to colorize gray-scale images. Two representative colorization methods are known: an automatic colorization method based on deep learning and a color information diffusion method that diffuses color information specified by a user. Meanwhile, there are no studies on colorization methods utilizing neuro dynamics. Therefore, the authors proposed a colorization method utilizing nonlinear dynamics of cellular neural networks. However, colorization performance for complex region still remained an open issue. In this study, we propose a colorization method that introduces a new color diffusion coefficient to address this problem. |
