Improving data security by mapping data and storage relations for data management in large environment

Abstract(in English) Large-scale organizations are required to manage multitude data assets and identify data flow and lo cation. Relationship between application and storage volume, can be derived by executing commands on server for mount information. However, it is not feasible because customers don't provide login credential to large number of virt ual machines due to security concerns. Proposed method automatically finds this mapping without login credentials. It uses data catalog's data preview to produce spikes in volume's network performance. It then compares these spikes with data preview time and generate topological mapping between data s ource (table), application (database server), and data storage (volume). Successful experiments on large database size demonstrate effectiveness of method on practical cases.
