Abstract(in English) | Some patients with idiopathic normal-pressure hydrocephalus develop aphasia or amnesia after shunt operation. This may be caused by the loss of B lymphocytes floating in the ventricles and CSF protected by the blood-brain barrier. Theauthor proposes the hypothesis that B lymphocytes floating in the ventricles control word memory by possessing antibodies that bind specifically to the phonological waveform of words. There is no hypothesis at the cellular or molecular level for language processing in the cerebral cortex. The author identifies cells and molecules and presents a brain network model for language processing. |
