Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) It is important to early provide evacuation notifications to prevent residents from landslide disaster. To provide appropriate notifications, the risk of the landslide disaster should be observed correctly. Therefore, we are trying to develop a sensor network that can detect precursor phenomena of landslides using a low-cost LPWA (Low Power Wide Area). Since observation devices in mountainous areas are based on unstable power sources such as solar power generation and batteries, it is necessary to suppress power consumption by appropriate scheduling of sending sensor data for long-term operation. In order to send sensor data with appropriate scheduling, it is effective to change the sending interval adapting to the remaining battery power. However, in battery adaptive scheduling, if the remaining battery power cannot be accurately estimated, the scheduling operation leads to the deterioration of the network performance. In this study, we evaluated how much the accuracy of the battery charge estimation itself affects the network performances, such as the maximum interval of suspending data sending from the sensor, in the scheduling that changes the transmission interval adapting to the battery charge.
