Analysis of interactions between lecturer and students in lectures (Sixth report)

Abstract(in English) In lectures using blackboard, we can observe the behaviors (listening to the explanation and taking notes) of students corresponding to the behaviors (writing on the blackboard and explanation to students) of lecturers. Next, lecturers adjust the progress of lectures based on the understandings of students estimated based on behaviors of students. In this way, we can see such an interaction between the behaviors of lecturers and students. In this report, we try to visualize the interaction between behaviors of lecturers and students in lectures using blackboard. First, we extract features for behaviors of lecturers and students using image processing. Next, we focus on the similarity between behaviors of lecturers and students for the visualization of the interaction between their behaviors. Furthermore, we introduce the indices based the correlation function and the principal component analysis for the evaluation of the similarity. Finally, we show the evaluation results of the similarity in the simulation data and real lectures.
