Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we evaluate the effectiveness of User Cooperative Mobility methods in ad-hoc networks under the restriction where nodes are restricted to move such as vehicles on roads. The traditional approach proposed to move the node to the location with the maximum throughput. However, in reality, it could be difficult to move the node to the ideal point due to the restriction. In this study, we assume a service that vehicles parked on a road form an ad-hoc network and provide wireless LAN access service to neighboring pedestrians. We compare the throughput performances with and without the restriction. In a simple model where nodes are uniformly located, we show that the throughput with the restriction is improved by 50%, though the one without the restriction becomes 50% more, indicating that User Cooperative Mobility is effective even with restricted position.
