Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Over the past 10 years, Analog Devices has been developing and manufacturing transceiver devices, which have been implemented and utilized as the core of software radio technology in many fields, especially 4G and 5G cellular base stations. Today, direct conversion based transceiver devices can handle 400 MHz bandwidth signals and achieve a receiver dynamic range of 150 dBc/Hz. It realizes easily implementing high-performance and high-density radio frontend in equipment. This has led to transceiver devices being applied not only in cellular applications, but also in a wide range of fields such as voice communications for mission critical applications and radar with full digital beamforming technology. This presentation will review the features of transceiver devices from the past to the present, and will discuss their applications, the technical elements required to achieve high radio performance, and future technical challenges.
