Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Public blockchains have an extremely slow transaction processing capacity, which is known as the blockchain scalability problem. We have investigated our cross-referencing method as a consensus algorithmfor multiple blockchains to improve the scalability and other aspects. On the other hand, similar methodology has been proposed by blockchain projects, such as Polkadot and Cosmos. In this paper, we propose federated consensus to summarize frameworks toimprove the scalability and other aspects. We also explain that the federated consensus can be classified into two types:relay-chain type that requires the blockchain in the upper layer andchain-less type that does not require the one. Furthermore, we conducted experiments to evaluate the performance of the latencyto finish chain-less-type federated consensus in the cross-referencing methodwith a peer-to-peer network of more than 100 nodes. As a result, we confirmed that the average latency increased by about 3.3 secondsper node as increasing the number of domains. |
