Abstract(in English) | Since everything connects to the Internet in the IoT era, the load concentration to the server is one of the most serious problems. To address the issue, we focus on WebRTC, which achieves P2P communications easily by Web browsers without any plug-ins. WebRTC defines data channels with SCTP and its partial reliability extension, PR-SCTP, which limits the backoff duration by TTL. Segmented file downloading using PR-SCTP has been clarified to be able to fetch a file quickly while guaranteeing the block reachability by retransmission of requests from clients in the application layer especially on harsh network environments such as disasters. In the existing research, a segmented file downloading method using PR-SCTP has been evaluated, but it cannot yield enough performance with some TTL values. In this report, we evaluate some requesting methods to be effective on WebRTC environments. Moreover, we propose an improved method and compare it with three existing methods. As a result, our proposed method can achieve the shortest download time and the smallest standard deviation of that when TTL is 0.01 or 0.1s on harsh network environments. |
