| Abstract(in English) | Towards further enhancement of 5G, so-called 5G evolution and Beyond 5G/6G that aims to be realized in almost 2030, a variety of investigations and technical discussions have already been performed domestically and internationally. In Japan, Beyond 5G Promotion Consortium has published “Beyond 5G White Paper ~Message to the 2030s~ (version 1.0)” in March 2022, which summarizes issues and expectations from each industry for Beyond 5G, capabilities required for Beyond 5G, and technological trends, etc. In addition, DOCOMO has already released a white paper version 1.0 that describes (i) directions of evolution, (ii) requirements and use cases, and (iii) technological enhancement and study areas on 5G Evolution & 6G in January 2020. The white paper was updated as version 4.0 by including the fusion of 5G Evolution & 6G and IOWN (Innovative Optical and Wireless Network) in November 2021. In this invited talk, DOCOMO’s technical concept and recent activities on 5G Evolution & 6G are introduced. |
