Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | In basketball, the number of plays involved by each player (points, shots, etc.) is recorded as box scores. In addition, at the professional level, the units of plays (points, changes in ball possession) may be recorded and published. However, simplestatistics (stats) such as the total number of goals scored do not take into account the circumstances of the game (opponent, score difference, remaining time, etc.), and these simple metrics may not be able to correctly judge whether a player reallyplayed for the winning of his team. Impact metrics aim to show the contribution of a player to his team’s winning or losingwith a single indicator. An impact metric based on the real-time probability of winning a game has been proposed. Thecalculation of this impact metric, however, has been performed for the NBA, a professional basketball league in the U.S. It hasnot been for the B.LEAGUE (B League), a professional basketball league in Japan. The purpose of this study is to propose animpact metric using real-time win probability for the B-League, especially for the B1 players. |
