Development of observation method of magnetic interference fringes by scanning magneto-optical microscopy

Abstract(in English) Holographic memory is a recording technology with high recording density and high data transfer rate. In order to improve its performance, it is necessary to know the exact magnetization distribution of the magnetic holograms in recording media. In this study, a quantitative evaluation method for magnetic holograms was developed using a scanning magneto-optical microscopy. A magnetic interference fringe with about 2 ?m period was observed with several stepping intervals in two-dimensional scanning. The observed fringes showed about 2 ?m period, and the observed fringes became smoother as the step interval became smaller. These suggest the interference fringe was successfully observed.
