Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) "Le Lectier" (European pear) needs to be graded at the time of shipment. However, there is a need to automate the process of grading, because the workload of grading is heavy and subjective. In order to develop a system for evaluating and grading the appearance quality of pears, a method for detecting black spots, which are physiological disorders, is investigated. In this study, we have proposed a method for detecting physiological disorders from photographed images of the bottom of pears using light image processing based on HSV color features. However, due to the structure of the photographic equipment, the bottom of the pear is photographed from below at an angle, resulting in perspective distortion in the photographed image. In this paper, we propose a method to reduce the displacement of the area of the photographed image using geometric transformation. Based on the distortion correction, physiological disorders are more accurately detected and classified to judge the grade correctly.
