Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Haptic communication has significance such as ensuring the operation by supplementing visual information and acquiring the feel of the object surface by transmitting force through the network. However, the operation becomes unstable under the communication delay. There is a limit due to the speed of light in the communication delay, and overcoming the delay is indispensable for the stabilization of the remote operation. Then, the construction of an optimization cycle for stable and comfortable remote operation using haptic communication under the communication quality deterioration condition has been tried. The research has been carried out by the procedure of realizing a series of cycles from estimation of human characteristics to optimization of control system parameters and verifying the effect with a system on virtual space. This paper describes the outline of these efforts and the result of verifying the effect when the prediction value of the reaction force is fed back to the operator.
