Design and Measurement of Crypto Processor for Post Quantum Cryptography CRYSTALS-Kyber

Abstract(in English) CRYSTALS-Kyber is one of the public key cryptosystems being considered as a public key cryptosystem after the advent of quantum computers, but it requires a longer computation time at the same security level than the conventional key exchange algorithms based on public key cryptosystems. In this study, we have created an ASIC that performs key generation, encryption, and decryption for CRYSTALS-Kyber. This is the ?rst time that the power comsumption of an ASIC specialized for CRYSTALS-Kyber have been measured. The chip measured in this study is up to 8.5 times faster and up to 133 times more energy e?cient than CPU operations.
