Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The clavicular posterior rotation is thought to play an important role in shoulder joint motion, but non-invasive measurement has been considered impossible. In this study, a surface map was constructed by attaching body surface markers around the clavicle and attempted to estimate the clavicular posterior rotation using its shape features. The accuracy of the estimated rotation was validated by comparing with the measured rotation using MRI. The results showed that the estimated rotation generally agreed with the measured rotation in 10 out of 12 postures, suggesting the possibility of estimating the clavicular posterior rotation by this method. Future work is to validate the estimation accuracy in a wider range of postures.
