Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) 5G system service was launched in 2020. In Japan, apart from the nationwide public service of 5G systems by telecommunication carriers, a private 5G system in sub-6 GHz band called local 5G system is actively used. When multiple local 5G systems are operated at the same frequency in nearby areas, it is important that they can be operated without interference with each other. To avoid interference between systems with high efficiency, it is necessary to calculate the radio protection area of each system based on the radio wave propagation model. However, it is necessary to add an appropriate margin to the calculated radio protection area for reliable operation. In this report, we propose a method using VHF band sensing information to estimate the margin of the radio protection area for the sub-6 GHz band spectrum sharing system. In the proposed method, a VHF reference signal generator is installed at the same location as the sub-6 GHz base station to be protected, and the VHF propagation from the reference signal generator is observed in real-time. The proposed method adds a minimum margin by combining the observed VHF band reception area and the radio protection area estimated by the conventional method. The proposed method is evaluated using the results of radio propagation experiments in the VHF and sub-6 GHz bands conducted on the campus of Kyoto University, and its effectiveness is demonstrated.
