Abstract(in English) In order to detect defects at an early stage of software development, techniques for predicting whether or not a change made to software contains a defect have been widely studied. In the vast majority of cases, static information (i.e., information that does not require program execution) is used to develop change-level defect prediction models. Dynamic information on the other hand (i.e., trace logs) is seldom used. It was hypothesized that trace logs could capture changes in the behavior of software and result in the improved performance of defect prediction models. In this study, we introduced several new types ofmetrics using the differences made by trace logs before and after a change, and then built a prediction model based on these. As a result of experiments using an OSS project, we demonstrated that our proposed dynamic metrics partially improve the defect prediction performance compared to using only static metrics.
