| 抄録(和) | 画像から人の手と接触物体位置を検出することは, 人が何を用いて行動しているかが分かる重要な情報であり, 行動理解や行動記録の分野での応用が期待されている. 検出器を頑健にするために, データの偏りを解消する2つの訓練画像を重ね合わせるMixupが注目されているが, 他の訓練画像と重ね合わせると手や物体が一部に集中し, 手や物体の境界が判別できなくなる画像や, どの物体に接触しているか分からなくなる画像が生成される問題がある. そこで, 本研究ではこれら2つの問題を解決する背景Mixupデータ拡張を提案する. 各領域のデータセットを用いた実験の結果，提案手法は偽陽性を減少させ, 教師あり学習, 半教師あり学習手法の性能を向上させることがわかった． |
| 抄録(英) | Detecting the position of human hands and an object-in-contact from an image is vital for understanding a user’s actions in a video and logging his or her daily activities. For training an object detector, Mixup, which overlays two training images to mitigate data bias, has been studied as an empirically powerful augmentation. However, in our task of hand and object-in-contact detection, mixing two human activity images produces an unintended bias in the augmented training data, e.g., the concentration of hands and objects in a specific region degrades the ability of the hand and object-in-contact detector to identify object boundaries. In this work, we propose Background Mixup data augmentation that leverages data mixing regularization while reducing the unintended effect in hand and object-in-contact detection. Specifically, instead of mixing two images where a hand and object-in-contact pair appears, we mix a target training image with background images extracted from external image sources and use them to train the detector. Our experimental study demonstrated that the proposed method effectively reduced false positives and improved the performance of hand and object-in-contact detection in supervised and semi-supervised learning settings. |
