Abstract(in English) | Millimeter-Wave communication has provided several gigabits per second data rate for applications in the context of 5G. And sub-Terahertz communication is a new desirable solution to support the data rate of several terabits per second for techniques such as holography. However, up converting baseband signal to such high frequency is not easy due to challenges including interference in the process of up conversion and nonlinear distortion caused by power amplifier. In this work, we introduce research challenges in realizing high frequency communications and implement an up/down converter based on Intermediate Frequency scheme in GNU Radio to verify the effectiveness of our design as preparation for communications for Beyond 5G. Both text and image messages are transmitted in the simulation with a radio frequency of 5 GHz and the results indicate the feasibility of our up converter. We also propose Digital Pre-Distortion method in GNU Radio to deal with nonlinear distortion. |
