Implementation and Evaluation of Point Cloud Streaming using HoloLens

Abstract(in English) Currently, we are forced to use remote communication using Information and Communication Technology due to the spread of COVID-19, and demand for high immersive communication using 3D content, such as point cloud, are increasing. To realize this demand, a real-time 3D content streaming (and rendering) is mandatory. In this paper, we develop a prototype 3D point cloud streaming system using a LiDAR camera and HoloLens2 and evaluate the system performance of live and on-demand point cloud streaming using our prototype system.
