Abstract(in English) | In recent years, the threat of attacks against IoT (Internet of Things) devices has become apparent with the rapid spread of IoT technologies. Although installing an intrusion detection system (IDS) on IoT networks mitigates the risk of such attacks, the installation requires software rewriting or hardware replacement of existing IoT devices or IoT gateways in some cases. In this paper, we propose an intrusion detection method that actively obtains feature values from IoT devices focusing on detecting an indication of intrusions with minimal cost. For the proposed method, we focus on the fact that the number of packets transmitted per unit time can be obtained from the IPID value of IPv4 header in many IoT devices and detect an indication of intrusion based on the number obtained from the IPID value. We have also evaluated the detection and processing performance of the proposed method and confirmed that the proposed method can be used for intrusion detection and processing on low-power devices. |
