Realization of low-cost and low-delay service paths for network slicing

Abstract(in English) In 5G networks, network slicing can construct multiple virtual networks (i.e., slices) on top of the physical network so as to accommodate a variety of services under limited physical resources. To realize slices, it is necessary to establish communication paths (i.e., service paths) by allocating appropriate physical network resources in response to required functions and resources. In this paper, we propose a resource allocation method as a multi-stage mixed integer linear optimization to achieve low-cost and low-delay service paths. Numerical evaluations using the existing linear solver show that the proposed method can reduce the average service path delay by 6.2% in the Abilene network while keeping the same cost as the existing method for minimizing the slice provisioning cost.
