Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) system operated in ISM (Industrial, Scientific and Medical) band establishes a determinate service area in the limited private space that user intends. Unfortunately, because of the vulnerable and unpredictable propagation of wireless signal, the transmitted signal of WLAN system easily spills over to the outside of the intended private space. Unnecessary and unpredictable propagation to the outside of private space will cause the excessive interference and provide the opportunity of eavesdropping of transmitted information. As a countermeasure against these problems, WLAN system using Leaky Coaxial Cable (LCX) has been proposed. However, since the propagation characteristics of LCX is much different from those of conventional omni-directional antennas, the effect of man-made noise emitted from ISM apparatus on the performance of WLAN system using LCX will be also different from that of conventional WLAN system. In this paper, we propose a transmit and receive diversity scheme that dynamically switches between omni-antenna and LCX interfaces to improve the performance of WLAN system under man-made noise environment. |
