Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this study, the floor on which the subject stood was suddenly moved horizontally to the left and right. We analyzed that the response to the swinging stimulus of the standing posture and its change by rocking. The direction and magnitude of the rocking were changed randomly for each trial. As a result, the head position moved forward, but the amount decreases as the rocking trial was continued. In addition, the cycle of head swing became longer in the left-right direction. At the first rocking, the muscle activity of the lower limbs increased, and this result suggests that the joint stiffness of the lower body increased. On the other hand, the muscles activity decreased due to the rocking experience. These results suggest that lowering the body stiffness absorbs the impact when the rocking is difficult to predict the direction and strength. These results have been reported in rhythmic continuous swings by previous studies, and we have shown similar results with habituation for discontinuous rocking.
