Abstract(in English) | This paper is a continuation of the content presented at previous EE meetings (held on November 18, 2021 and January 28, 2022). With the advent of the With Corona era, DX has made rapid progress around the world. As a result, the electronics industry experienced a shortage of semiconductors, and Japan was exposed to a significant decline in its self-sufficiency in semiconductors. In the previous EE meeting, we observed the bankruptcy process of Elpida Memory, Inc. through its balance sheet, which was the only DRAM manufacturer operating in Japan. In this article, we will trace the balance sheet trends of Japanese electronics companies in general during the 2000s. We will also compare the trends of US IT companies such as Intel and Apple during the same period. Through these observations, we will examine what was happening in the process of the decline of Japan's electronics industry compared to the rest of the world. |
