Design and Implementation of Narrow-Band Waveguide Band Pass Filter Based on 3D Printing Technology

Abstract(in English) With the development of communication technology and the rapid increase of communication devices, the frequency bands for specific applications are becoming more crowded, and the demand for narrowband filters is increasing accordingly. However, traditional filter processing techniques are complex, require much manual tuning, and are costly in total processing time and materials. In this paper, we propose a novel method of processing filters using 3D printing technology and design a cavity filter with a center frequency of 4.725GHz and a passband bandwidth of 50MHz. We print and forge the filters with different materials using a PLA printer and a metal printer, respectively. Forged filters can achieve less to 3dB insertion loss on the 1% of relative bandwidth. The test results of the filters show that the proposed method can significantly reduce the processing cost of the filter and satisfy the functional requirements of the filter to a certain extent.
