A Proposal of Nighttime Dehazing Method Suppressing Over Enhancement

Abstract(in English) When images or videos are captured in outdoors, the visibility of objects may be affected by haze such as fog. In recent years, many image processing techniques for nighttime haze removal have been researched. However, these methods caused over-enhancement around light source regions. In this report, we propose a nighttime dehazing method while suppressing over-enhancement around light source regions. In the proposed method, Gaussian filters with two kinds of filter size are used for atmospheric light estimation. The atmospheric light estimation is designed base on the Retinex theory. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by the various experiments.
