Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a method to establish a stable millimeter-wave wireless network using metal reflectors in indoor environments, especially in the factory, where machines and equipments are remotely operated using 6 GHz and 28 GHz wireless connections. In the proposed scheme, light detection and ranging (LiDAR) based equipment detection scheme is assumed to be utilized for the detection of the location of every terminal so that the wireless access system can understand where the non-line-of-sight (NLoS) terminals are located. In the proposed scheme, metal reflectors are introduced between a base station and terminals located in the NLoS area to change NLoS conditions to line-of-sight (LoS) conditions. In addition, the area shifting mechanism is introduced to control the reflection area to cover as many terminals in the NLoS area as possible to enhance the coverage area. Computer simulation based on the ray-tracing method confirms that the proposed scheme is very effective in the enhancement of area coverage.
